      The Westlake High boys' golf team has lived in the red all season, and Tuesday morning at Soule Park Golf Course at Ojai was no different. Westlake posted a team-total 2underpar 358 to claim its second consecutive CIF-Southern Section Northern Team Divisional title.

Volleyball playoffs on tap
      Boys' volleyball postseason action gets underway in earnest Friday night at 7 p.m. In Division II, Marmonte League co-champion Westlake will host either Hart or Hueneme. Thousand Oaks, meanwhile, plays at Oxnard. Oaks Christian opens the Division III tournament at home against St. Joseph.

Newbury Park wins lacrosse title in overtime
      Newbury Park clinched the Southern California Lacrosse Association championship with an 8-7 overtime victory last weekend over host Thousand Oaks. The largest crowd ever to witness an SCLA high school lacrosse game saw Newbury Park jump out to a 4-0 lead midway through the second quarter.

      In a span of 10 minutes, the Thousand Oaks High boys' tennis team won the Marmonte League Tennis Championships' singles and doubles crowns. Lancer freshman Brendon Josephson, who turned 15 the day before Tuesday's league finals, earned a belated birthday treat with an upset singles victory over Calabasas senior Josh Gartman, 6-3, 6-2.
