When Larry Bernhardt met Zandria in 1988, he learned quickly how important the show "Up With People" had been in her life. She had traveled as a teenager all over the world as the pianist for the original cast from 1966-69.

Last week Zan and Larry returned from the yearly "Up With People" reunion in Tucson, Ariz. This time, they attended as vendors as well. They had an idea for a referralnetwork for the more than 20,000 alumni who have traveled since its inception in 1965. Since Dilbeck Realtors is affiliated with more than 1,800 GMACaffiliated offices throughout the U.S., Canada, U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, now the alumni and their friends and family will be able to call them directly or click on the "Up With People" website, the Dilbeck website, or Zan and Larry's personal website. No matter where the alumni's real estate needs exist, Zan and Larry will connect them with a GMACaffiliated Realtor to match their needs. After a successful close of escrow, Zan and Larry will donate 50 percent of their commission to "Up With People," which will help new students continue to travel as ambassadors of goodwill throughout the world.

As a nonprofit organization, its message has remained the same for 42 years—to make a positive difference in the world. The 20,000 plus alumni from more than 89 countries have performed for more than 800 million people. They've stayed with host families on the road, written their own music and words, translated them into the language of the country to which they were traveling and worked with local charities, all sponsored by private donations.

Zan and Larry continue to donate a portion of their commissions from their local listings and sales as well. As you can see, having traveled with "Up With People" has provided Zan with experiences, insights and perspectives that have enabled her to truly make a difference in other's lives. It is the couple's goal that these commissions from referrals will enable future "Up With People" college students to give back in a positive way throughout their lives.
