The T.O. Acorn is appreciated

2009-05-14 / Letters

As a Thousand Oaks resident of 13 years, I thank you for producing an informative and relevant weekly local newspaper.

I find it very helpful in keeping me informed on local T.O. City Council issues and rulings, e.g., the proposed Home Depot site on Hampshire Road in T.O. and recent mandatory water use rules; CVUSD school board information; the sheriff's blotter and other articles of local interest.

Your paper also informs me about local businesses that I might not have otherwise patronized.

Due to the publication of your timely article about Navy Lt. Francis Toner IV, who grew up in Thousand Oaks and was recently killed while bravely confronting an insurgent fighter in Afghanistan, I was able to pay my respects at his locally held memorial service on May 2.

I love living in Thousand Oaks. Your paper adds to my quality of life.

Thanks, and keep up the good work. Fred M. Fukunaga Thousand Oaks
