Some hearing aid companies don't play by the rules
I'd like to express my appreciation to your paper for publishing the letter of April 23 from Sandee Saurman.
She described the California law for returning hearing aids and who to contact to report abusers.
This was the information I needed to report a hearing aid dispenser who refused to refund $4,000 for hearing aids that only worked for one to three days after each adjustment.
Although his slick ads said that "satisfaction was guaranteed," instead of taking back the hearing aids, he would insist on doing more adjustments until the 30 days was up and then wouldn't take them back because it was "over 30 days."
Unfortunately, while the hearing aids worked wonderfully well when hooked up to the machine, the adjustments weren't sustained with regular hearing aid batteries.
Of course I was not satisfied. Mary Giese Thousand Oaks
