A Republican and proud of it
In response to Alexander Dupre's letter in the April 30 T.O. Acorn ("Hopes to see fewer Bush/Cheney bumper stickers"), may I remind him that in America we the have right and liberty to own and drive whatever legally allowed vehicle that we so choose and display on that vehicle bumper stickers supporting the political candidate and party of our choice.
Just as you are afforded the right and freedom to submit such a hateful letter for publication in a community newspaper, others, too, can express their opinion in the manner as they so choose.
And just to point out, one doesn't need to drive a Suburban to display a bumper sticker supporting the Republican Party.
Folks can display a Republican bumper sticker on their pickup truck, SUV, sedan, minivan, hybrid, motorcycle and even their scooter. In fact, folks can easily purchase Republican 2010, 2012 bumper stickers online and display them just as well on their RV, horse trailer, motor boat and ATVs, too.
I'm proud to be a TEA partyattending, Fox News-watching, Rush Limbaugh-listening, Mark Levin's "Liberty and Tyranny"reading, military-supporting, Reagan-admiring, God-trusting Republican.
Now that's a bumper sticker for my Suburban! Susan Trockey Newbury Park
