Community Cleanup Day is Saturday

The city of Thousand Oaks annual Community Cleanup and Recycling Day will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sat., May 16 at Conejo Creek Park South at Janss Road and the 23 Freeway.

This event is free of charge to Thousand Oaks residents. Identification is required.

Acceptable materials include household trash, electronics such as TVs and computers, yard trimmings, scrap metal and up to four tires per resident.

Residents can also make donations of new or gently used items such as clothing, appliances and furniture to Goodwill Industries.

Onsite personal document destruction will be available with a seven-box limit. Paper only will be accepted. Do not bring business waste, plastic or glass.

Unacceptable items are hazardous waste, such as batteries and paint, liquid waste, such as motor oil and antifreeze, and commercial waste, including materials from landscaping companies.

Residents should be prepared to unload their own vehicles.
