Dick Van Dyke will star in concert that helps high school choral music programs

For the 10th year performer Dick Van Dyke will star in the annual benefit concert "Wishing on a Star" for local high school choral music programs at 4 p.m. Sun., May 10 in the Kavli Theatre, Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.

Van Dyke will sing songs from Disney musicals such as "Mary Poppins," "Pinocchio" and "Snow White."

Van Dyke will also serve as master of ceremonies.

Choral groups from five local high schools will also perform: Oxnard, Oak Park, Newbury Park, Santa Susanna in Simi Valley and El Camino in Woodland Hills.

The Conejo Valley Harmony Oaks Chorus, an a cappella men's group based in Thousand Oaks, is producing the show and will perform. Several other national award-winning quartets will sing.

The show's finale will feature more than 400 show participants in a joint performance.

Tickets are $15, $25 and $35 and are available at the Civic Arts Plaza box office.
