The Democratic Club of the Conejo Valley will host a spring luncheon at noon Thurs., May 21 at the Thousand Oaks Inn, 75 W. Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks.

Dr. Michaela Crawford Reaves, associate professor at California Lutheran University, will talk about Frances Perkins, the first woman to receive a Cabinet post when appointed secretary of labor under President Franklin Roosevelt.

The cost is $12 at the door. Reservations are required and due by Tues., May 19.
