Oaks Christian School's ninth annual dinner auction will be a Latin American-style event called "Ven Conmigo, Come With Me" on Sat., May 9 at the school, 31749 La Tienda Road, Westlake Village. The public is invited to attend.

The event will begin with an outdoor mercado (marketplace) from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. with a variety of authentic stations featuring catered Latin American food, music and salsa dancing, and a silent auction of more than 500 items.

The live auction and a celebrity concert, "Jimmy Jam Presents Oaks' Next Recording Star," will take place from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. in the school's Bedrosian Pavilion, decorated as a hacienda.

Grammy-winning producer Jimmy Jam and a team of judges have selected six students from Oaks Christian Middle and High schools by audition to work with Jam in his recording studio and perform at the auction.

Live auction items up for bid include a Monday Night Football dinner for 10 with quarterback Joe Montana at The Grill on the Alley, a Sea Dream Yachts Mediterranean cruise and a guitar signed by all the members of the Rolling Stones.

The event raises funds for the school's financial aid program, which supports more than 40 percent of the student body.

Tickets are $40 for the mercado only and an additional $75 to $100, depending on seat location, for the concert and live auction.
