Movie industry is more important than residents

Did you know that if the Thousand Oaks commercial filming permit laws are changed then next-door neighbors will lose their right for peace and quiet?

The City Council is scheduled to completely revamp the filming permit laws on Tues., June 9.

If you have come to enjoy the peacefulness of the current restrictions, then you may be in for a complete shock after the council throws them out the window in favor of their Hollywood friends with deep pockets.

Residents may wake up only when dozens of trucks and workers are scurrying about, creating havoc and mayhem in their neighborhood.

Don't wait until it's too late. Act now. Write, call or e-mail the City Council and tell them that a next-door neighbor's right to peace and quiet shouldn't be ignored and that filming at any hour of the day or night is inappropriate.

Better yet, go to the council meeting and tell them in person. John Fonti Newbury Park
