Event promotes healthy kids

The Conejo Valley and Miller Family YMCAs will celebrate YMCA Healthy Kids Day Sat., May 16.

Intended to highlight healthy lifestyle choices for children and families, the event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Miller Family Y, 320 Via Las Brisas, Newbury Park, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Conejo Valley facility, 4031 N. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks.

The Conejo Valley YMCA, serving Thousand Oaks and Moorpark, will feature a children's carnival with games, raffles, bookmobile, vendors and healthy snacks for purchase. Attendees may tour the summer camp grounds.

The Miller Family Y's event will include a children's wellness village with activities such as a 25-foot climbing wall, bounce house, firetruck, bike safety station, and a swim and run event.

The preschool will host an open house, and summer camp registrations will be accepted.
