It's time to move on and stop criticizing Bush

2009-04-30 / Letters

It's with great disappointment that U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein is considering setting up commissions, hearings, etc., to harass members of the Bush administration who gave legal opinions concerning interrogation techniques of enemy combatants after 9/11.

Does she not realize that these hearings, commissions, will take up an enormous amount of time, cost taxpayers more hundreds of thousands and will be an excuse for the Democratic Congress to not have to deal with more pressing issues?

The Democrats should, by now, have gotten over the fact that George Bush won the last two elections. However, it's obvious that they haven't.

Democrats and the leftist political elements were so upset that Bush was in the White House these past nine years that they apparently developed a psychosis to the point that they'll do anything, find any excuse to get their "pound of flesh" out of the Bush administration. I would have hoped that Feinstein hadn't fallen into this category. I'm also discouraged that she apparently has instigated a way for her husband's business to have received a huge grant.

Where did the money for the grant come from? Were favors given in return for the grant? Is she sitting on a board or committee that has dealings with the FDIC? Maybe we should set up a commission to investigate these questions.

In other words, she should get the log out of her own eye before she tries to take it out of someone else's. Elizabeth Buckner Thousand Oaks
