Hopes to see fewer Bush/Cheney bumper stickers
Common sense has finally returned to Thousand Oaks voters. I'd like to offer my praise and thanks to all those thoughtful people who have been displaying Obama/Biden 2008 bumper stickers on their cars.
What a relief it is to see this great president's name on the back of people's cars.
After eight long miserable years of suffering through the darkest period in our history with dumb and dumber in charge, we can celebrate the fact that actual intelligence, integrity and thoughtful leadership has finally returned.
President Obama now has the daunting task to clean up the worst mess ever created. It's crystal clear that the former administration lacked vision, wisdom, common sense and morality as well. They left a legacy of total destruction, hate, greed, malfeasance and illegal activities that rival the worst dictatorships on planet earth.
Like Nixon, Bush and Cheney committed crimes and should go to jail. They alienated our greatest and oldest allies and friends around the world. They directly caused this recession and created total chaos in the Middle East.
They took a brilliant president's budget surplus and squandered it on rightwing extremism. They launched an illegal war against a country that never harmed a single American, and, in the process, they made Iran the superpower of that region. If they had a single brain cell, they would have realized that we needed Saddam to fight Iran so we wouldn't have to.
At least now when I drive around Thousand Oaks, I don't have to see the ugly and vile names of Bush/Cheney 2004.
The misguided drivers who displayed such filth on their oversized Chevy Suburban gas guzzlers have finally vanished. I hope the warmongers all moved to Iraq, since they love war and chaos so much.
I predict Barack Obama will become one of our greatest presidents. I urge more drivers to display Obama/Biden stickers on their well-built, fuel-efficient Hondas. Alexander Dupre Thousand Oaks
