You can always vote by mail

Residents who will not be home for the May 19 special election or who prefer not to go to the polls may vote by mail.

The last day to request a Vote by Mail ballot is Tues., May 12.

All ballots must be returned by 8 p.m. Election Day, Tues., May 19 for counting. Postmarks do not count.

Completed ballots may be dropped off at any polling place in Ventura County on Election Day or returned to the Ventura County Elections Division at the County Government Center between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays, or mailed back with a 42cent first-class postage stamp by May 10. On May 11 postage rates will increase to 44 cents.

Registered voters may request a mail-in ballot by calling the Ventura County Elections Division at (805) 654-2664 or picking up a ballot at the County Government Center, 800 S. Victoria Ave., Ventura.
