Kids help overseas veterans call home
HELPING AMERICAN SERVICEMEN AND WOMEN- Students from Conejo Elementary School collected more than 200 cellphones and more than $100 to donate to the Cell Phones for Soldiers Organization. The Massachusetts-based nonprofit organization recycles unwanted cellphones and purchases phone cards that are sent to soldiers all over the world so they can call home. Students designed banners and posters, scripted morning announcements and sold prizes that were donated by the local Army recruiting office to raise money for the campaign.
