Kids help overseas veterans call home
      HELPING AMERICAN SERVICEMEN AND WOMEN- Students from Conejo Elementary School collected more than 200 cellphones and more than $100 to donate to the Cell Phones for Soldiers Organization. The Massachusetts-based nonprofit organization recycles unwanted cellphones and purchases phone cards that are sent to soldiers all over the world so they can call home.

MATES hearing rescheduled
      The hearing to determine whether a charter school will be placed on the Meadows Elementary campus has been rescheduled for Fri., April 24. Originally scheduled for March 27, the hearing was postponed because the judge needed more time to review materials.
