Armeen Kermanizadeh Armeen Kermanizadeh Most people have interests, but Redwood Boys & Girls Club member Armeen Kermanizadeh has passions. Among them: math (his teacher provides challenges to keep the 6th grader inspired); painting and drawing with gel pens (especially tokens of passion- - hearts); listening to Persian music; and studying language. Although his parents, who work at Amgen, hail from Iran, Armeen has branched out from Farsi and taught himself Arabic on the Internet. Recently, for Multicultural Day during Boys & Girls Clubs Week, Armeen engaged the club with a lesson in the Arabic alphabet. Armeen keeps busy by poring through food books and pounding the pad in "Dance Dance Revolution."

"Youths of the Month" at the Sequoia, Los Cerritos and Colina Clubs are, respectively, Michael Alari, Melanie Garcia and Stephanie Fleishman. For more about BGC/CLV's supervised activities, call (818) 706-0905 or log onto www.bgcconejo.org.
