Area's top basketball, soccer players earn All-CIF honors

The CIF-Southern Section has announced its All-CIF teams for boys' and girls' basketball and soccer.

In boys' hoops, Thousand Oaks High junior Alex Tiffin was named Player of the Year in Division IIAA. Richard Endres of the Lancers was the division's Coach of the Year. Thousand Oaks' Antonio Lopez made the Division IIAA first team.

Simi Valley sharpshooter Brad Lewis, the leading scorer in Ventura County, was named to the Division IIA first team. Lewis' teammate, Danny Cox, was a secondteam selection in the same division.

In Division IIIA boys' basketball, Calabasas standout Evan Smith was a first-team choice. Tyler McGrath of Oaks Christian made the first team in Division IVA.

In girls' basketball, Thousand Oaks' Karina Alofaituli was a first-team selection in Division IIAA. Her teammate, Jenna Bandy, made the division's second team, as did Royal's Destinee Lafountain.

Doris Park-Sherman of Newbury Park was voted onto the Division IIA first team. Rio Mesa's Julisa DeVad made the second team.

Agoura freshman point guard Kylie Cunningham was a firstteam pick in Division IIIAA. Her Charger sidekick, Brittany Oster, made the division's second team.

Oaks Christian standout Katie Brooks earned first-team honors in Division IVA. Lion freshman Brianna Barrett made the division's second team.

Moving on to boys' soccer, Westlake's Austin Hall, Newbury Park's Anthony Trujillo and Agoura's Michael Uyehara were all first-team choices in Division I. Junior Sam Ball, Westlake's scoring machine, was a secondteam selection. Tyler Buron of Agoura, and Newbury Park's Eric Mueller and Phillip Muscarella are all thirdteam members in Division I.

Viewpoint had a pair of players make the first team in Division VI—defender Patrick Handy and forward Evan Rayner. Patriot senior Chase Niesner was a second-team selection.

Nick Frumkin of Grace Brethren was a secondteam pick in Division VII boys' soccer.

In girls' soccer, Royal's Diana Ohrt was a second-team pick in Division I.

The Division V All-CIF-SS teams are chock-full of local names.

Making the Division V first team were Oaks Christian's Kelly Johnson and Lauren Lindstrom, as well as Oak Park's Lauren Kawamoto and La Reina's Ali Parisi.

Secondteam members in Division V include Oak Park's Erica Kim, La Reina's Megan Scanlon and Oaks Christian's Noe Salter.

Oak Park's Victoria Cameron, as well as Oaks Christian's Jaci Mello and Megan Schoppe, were all third-team choices in the same division.

Senior Samantha Tellez of Viewpoint is a firstteam member in Division VI. Her Patriot teammate Lisa Dubow made the division's second team, as did Grace Brethren standout defender Meghan Reno. Jenny Kim, also of Viewpoint, was a third-team selection.
