Park Oaks Elementary School is celebrating its 50th anniversary with an open house and alumni reception from 6 to 9 p.m. Fri., May 29 at the school, 1335 Calle Bouganvilla, Thousand Oaks.

The event is for all past students, staff and friends of Park Oaks. Food and music will be provided.

Alumni are invited to participate in the planning and activities for this event. A person is needed to set up a website for the event.

The next planning meeting will be Wed., April 22 at the school.

Almost all of the memorabilia for the school was destroyed a few years ago by a water line rupture. Alumni are asked to donate copies of any photos, articles or artifacts they have to help restore the historical records.
