Angry because the council rejected Home Depot
Now that the Thousand Oaks City Council and Do-it Center have shut down the Home Depot project because it wouldn't look as good as an abandoned Kmart, and create traffic, etc., I have a suggestion:
Put in a larger Home Depot where Courtesy Chevrolet used to be. Oh, wait, that's across the street from Do-it Center.
It looks like we'll be stuck another 10 years with an abandoned Kmart and get to waste gas driving all the way to Newbury Park if we want to shop at some place other than Do-it.
In this economy it doesn't make sense to discourage a large company wanting to improve the area and add tax revenue to the city. At least when these people run for reelection, the voice of the majority will have the final word. Bob Weisz Westlake Village
