Holy Week services are scheduled for Church of the Epiphany in Oak Park
The Church of the Epiphany (Episcopal) will present Holy Week services in the sanctuary, 5450 Churchwood Drive, Oak Park.
•Maundy Thursday, 7:30 p.m. April 9. The Parish Choir will perform "Bread of the World in Mercy Broken" by Peter Aston and "Peace Is My Last Gift to You" by Ralph Carskadden.
•Good Friday, noon and 7:30 p.m. April 10. For the evening service, the Epiphany Schola chamber choir and the Epiphany Choristers youth choir will present "Surely He Hath Borne Our Griefs" by Healey Willan, "Ave Verum Corpus" by Malcolm Archer and the chanted Passion narrative from John's gospel.
•Great Vigil, 8 p.m. Sat., April 11. The service includes candlelight and special readings and concludes with a champagne reception.
The Epiphany Schola will perform "When David Heard that Absalom Was Slain" by Thomas Tomkins, "The Carol of the Exodus" by Charles Wood and "Blessed Be the God and Father" by Samuel Sebastian Wesley.
•Easter Sunday, 9 and 11 a.m. April 12. Both services will feature choir with brass ensemble and performance of "Te Deum Laudamus in B."
