Credit card manufacturing ring cracked by T.O. police
      An alleged elaborate shoplifting scheme at Best Buy in Thousand Oaks led police detectives to what could be a major credit card manufacturing ring. The investigation began when a security team at Best Buy, 390 N. Moorpark Road, suspected people were purchasing 22-inch TVs, leaving the store with them and giving the receipt to an accomplice.

Ventura County sheriff forced to reinstate ousted police officer
      Geoff Dean is glad to be back in uniform, but Sheriff Bob Brooks has made it clear he doesn't agree with a civil commission's decision to allow the 31year veteran to return to the Ventura County Sheriff's Department. "I disagree with (the commission's) determination that a termination was not warranted," Brooks said.
