Humorist-folk singer to perform at Borchard

Humorous folk singersongwriter Jackie Morris of Carpinteria will perform at 8 p.m. Fri., April 10 at the Fireside Theatre in the Borchard Community Center, 190 Reino Road, Newbury Park.

Her original songs from her two recent CDs have been played on NPR radio stations nationwide.

Her latest album, "Money to Burn," was among Top Albums and Top Artists of July 2008 on the Folk Music Radio Airplay Chart.

Morris' song "Online Dating" was selected as "some of our 2007 favorites" by Ron Olesko and Bill Hahn, hosts of WFDU's "Traditions" show.

Morris will be accompanied by Lark Ann Cobb, bassist Gary Lynch, and John O'Kennedy on lead guitar, mandolin and dobro.

Also appearing in the show will be singer-songwriter Jim St. Ours of Santa Barbara, the Restless Hillfillies from around Ojai, and Dutch Newman and the Musical Melodians from Los Angeles.
