Janss Marketplace in Thousand Oaks is sponsoring an inaugural Beauty Contest and Teen Model Search.

The beauty contest has four age categories: up to 2 years old, 3 to 4 years, 5 to 8 years and 9 to 12 years.

The Teen Model Search is for ages 13 to 18 by a local talent agent.

The contests offer $250 in prizes, a walk-on role in a movie or TV show and the opportunity to be discovered by a modeling agency.

Runners-up will win $25, $50 or $100 in prizes.

The winners will be announced at a springtime fashion event from 1 to 4 p.m. Sat., April 25 at the shopping center. Former Miss Teen All American Symba Smith will be the celebrity judge. Michael Zanuck, CEO of MZA, will be the host.

To enter the contests, shoppers who spend $20 in a participating marketplace store will receive a by-one-get-one-free headshot at The Picture Place. The headshot is the entry and will be displayed in marketplace kiosks.
