Let's control the pet population
Thank you for the informative article on helping homeless cats through trap-neuter-return ("Helping homeless cats requires spaying, neutering," Feb. 26 T.O. Acorn.) I want to make residents aware that Valley Veterinary nonprofit offers the free loan of humane traps to catch wild cats for spay or neuter and has volunteers available to assist.
In addition, Valley Veterinary nonprofit will spay or neuter feral, wild and stray cats on a donation basis. It also offers lowcost spay/neuter for domestic cats and mixed breed dogs whose caretakers are experiencing severe financial need.
Breeding season is here now. Please do not procrastinate.
If you are aware of feral, wild or stray cats please contact Valley Veterinary nonprofit for assistance immediately.
In a few weeks our local shelters will become overwhelmed with kittens for whom no homes exist.
The nonprofit can be reached at (805) 584-3823. Carol Olson Thousand Oaks
