Lecture on biblical interpretation coming to California Lutheran University
Theologian Craig L. Nessan will present a free lecture on "Hearing the Word: Lutheran Perspectives on Biblical Interpretation" at 1 p.m. Sat., March 21 in Samuelson Chapel, California Lutheran University, 60 W. Olsen Road, Thousand Oaks.
R. Guy Erwin, who holds the Belgum Chair in Lutheran Confessional Theology at CLU, will respond.
Nessan's presentation is part of a national lecture series.
Nessan is a dean and professor of contextual theology at Wartburg Theological Seminary in Iowa. He earned a doctorate in theology from the University of Munich and master's degrees in sacred theology and divinity from Wartburg.
The free presentation is part of the annual Hein-Fry Lecture Series of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
