The Conejo Recreation and Park District honored Thousand Oaks High tennis players Denis Lin and Kyle McMorrow with its Young Athlete Recognition Award.

The two Lancers were nominated by head coach Dave Assorson for their accomplishments as juniors in 2008.

The board of directors presented Lin and McMorrow with the awards at its Feb. 19 meeting.

They won the Easter Bowl, U18 National Doubles and Southern California Junior Sectional Doubles titles.

McMorrow also won the prestigious CIF-Southern Section Ojai Singles Tournament. Lin teamed with Marcos Giron to claim the CIFSS doubles championship.

The district periodically recognizes deserving young athletes from Conejo Valley.
