SELPA presents workshops in Ventura County

•"Helping Your Child with Fine Motor Skills" will be presented from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tues., March 10 at the Oak Park Library lecture room, 899 N. Kanan Road, Oak Park.

Kelly Cox, occupational therapist, will give ideas for helping children to use their hands for such tasks as handwriting and daily living skills.

The free program is for parents of children in preschool through elementary grade levels, all disabilities.

•"Autism and Communication" will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fri., March 20 at the Ventura County Office of Education Conference Center, 5100 Adolfo Road, Camarillo.

This workshop, for both parents and professionals, will present strategies for developing meaningful language in children with autism spectrum disorders.

The cost is $30 within SELPA and $40 outside SELPA. Registration is required.
