Texas Hold 'em Poker returns to Conejo Valley

Be sure to mark your calendar for Sun., April 19 when the Thousand Oaks Kiwanis Club Charitable Foundation presents its second annual Texas Hold 'em Poker Tournament and Casino Night at The Canyon, 28912 Roadside Drive in Agoura Hills.

The Canyon is in Whizin's Center, just south of the 101 Freeway, east of Kanan Road. The Acorn Newspapers is the "Platinum" Presenting Sponsor.

Advance registration is $40 ($45 at the door), which includes a buffet dinner and casino "Funny" Money. The initial buyin cost for the Poker Tournament is $100, which gets the participant $10,000 in poker chips "play dough." Registration begins at 4 p.m. with poker instructions; the buffet dinner starts at 4:30 p.m., and the poker tournament begins at 5 p.m.

•There are advance group rates for the tournament; call for more information

•Tournament prizes will be awarded to all final table players

•There will also becasino prizes and a live auction.
