Gigi the giraffe brightens hospital for kids

WENDY PIERRO/Acorn Newspapers WENDY PIERRO/Acorn Newspapers HEALING STATUE—Local children gather around a 5-foot papier mache giraffe named Gigi that brightens up the hall at Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center. The giraffe was a community project at Pandora's Paintbox Craft Studio in Newbury Park. Visitors to the studio spent eight months adding decoupage to the sculpture, and on Monday Pandora's Paintbox donated it to the hospital, where it will be displayed from now on. Holly Neslund, 6, left, Claire Neslund, 8, Cooper Goyette, 6, Valerie Hobbs, 7, and Sofia Hillman, 6, were a few of the artists that participated in the project.
