Thousand Oaks Chabad Jewish Center will host a "Wild West" Purim celebration from 5:15 to 7:15 p.m. Tues., March 10 at the Stagecoach Inn Museum Complex, 51 S. Ventu Park Road, Newbury Park. The public is invited.

The event will have a sitdown barbecue dinner, Megillah reading, quality "moonshine" for adults, and holiday crafts and pony rides for children.

The holiday of Purim commemorates the rescue of Jews living in ancient Persia from destruction at the hands of Haman, a Persian ruler. It is customary to wear costumes.
