Embezzler gets prison sentence

Alan Olin, 48, of Thousand Oaks, was recently sentenced to 28 months in state prison and ordered to pay $120,735 in restitution to the Conejo Valley United Soccer Club for embezzling that amount while acting as treasurer for the club.

According to a press release from the district attorney's office, the fraud was discovered in 2008 after a review of the soccer club's bank records.

Olin pleaded guilty to one count of felony grand theft. He also admitted to a special allegation that he stole more than $65,000.
