'Rock the Oaks' is coming to Civic Arts Plaza
The ninth annual Rock the Oaks concert, featuring local bands, for Conejo Valley teens will take place at 7:30 p.m. Fri., Feb. 27 at the Scherr Forum, Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza.
The event is sponsored by the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza Foundation and presented by the Thousand Oaks Youth Commission.
The four local bands performing will be Violet Hour, David Pramik, JetStream and Jason Sharp.
The rock-alternative band Violet Hour will present material from its recently released EP "Here At The End Of Things" after recent performances at Rock City in Camarillo and the Thousand Oaks Teen Center.
Former Big Brother front man David Pramik will bring his eclectic jazz, blues, classical, rock and acoustic-influenced solo act.
JetStream has performed at numerous clubs and won the U.S. leg of the 2007 Global Battle of the Bands. JetStream opened for American Idol finalist Bo Bice and played at the Majestic Ventura Theater.
Rock performer Jason Sharp and his band have headlined shows at the House of Blues in Anaheim and The Troubador in Hollywood. They have opened for Anna Nalick and Chris Cornell at the Majestic Ventura Theater.
