Keeping a watchful eye on Mardi Gras
      FESTIVE ACCESSORY- Volunteer Jessica Alexander is dressed for the occasion, wearing an elaborate mask. Saturday night marked the 17th annual Mardi Gras Ball. The event at Hyatt Westlake Plaza was a fundraiser for Community Conscience, the "one-stop human services center" in Thousand Oaks on Hillcrest Drive at Moorpark Road.

'Rock the Oaks' is coming to Civic Arts Plaza
Local bands to play tomorrow night
      The ninth annual Rock the Oaks concert, featuring local bands, for Conejo Valley teens will take place at 7:30 p.m. Fri., Feb. 27 at the Scherr Forum, Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. The event is sponsored by the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza Foundation and presented by the Thousand Oaks Youth Commission.
