Motorists will speed less often if they get tickets
I'd like to comment on a letter written by Erik Nordquist in the Feb. 12 Thousand Oaks Acorn ("Are police officers writing tickets to raise city revenue?") I've had a similar experience as Mr. and Mrs. Nordquist but see a completely different side to the story.

Cops are writing tickets to save lives of pedestrians
After reading Mr. Nordquist's Feb. 12 letter to the editor about police officers writing tickets to raise city revenues, I just had to throw my two cents in from another perspective.       In response to Dawn Williams' and Kevin R. Stanley's letters to the Acorn published Feb. 12, I'm usually not one to write letters to newspapers because I disagree over what's being said, but these two letters deserve an alternative point of view.

Shopping center didn't support local enterprises
How can one insist local residents "Buy Local" at The Oaks when an ill attempt to utilize local contractors has been demonstrated? Close associates, as well as my dump truck service, Servant Trucking, were contracted to perform services for the Simi Valley Town Center.
