New community pool will open soon
      POOL TIME— Community leaders officially dedicate the Conejo Community Pool with a ribboncutting last Friday at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks. The facility will open in March and will offer recreational swimming and year-round classes.

Radio memorabilia still unrecovered
      It's unknown what will become of radio broadcasting artifacts that are sealed in a bank's basement at Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street. They were slated to be included in the American Radio Archives at the Grant Brimhall/Thousand Oaks Library.

Audubon plans field trips for March bird-watching
      The Conejo Valley Audubon Society announces its field trip calendar for March. •Jean Hulberg will lead a group to Hill Canyon at 8 a.m. Sun., March 1.       Mix 'N Mingle for seniors ages 55 and up will take place from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Wed., March 11 at the Goebel Senior Adult Center, 1385 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks. The purpose is for newcom ers to meet the patrons of the center and share a variety of topics and interests.

Annual CROP Walk to help charity
      The 31st annual Conejo Valley CROP (Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty) Walk will take place on Sun., March 8, beginning at the California Lutheran University Sports Complex. It's a fundraising walk of 6.2 or 4.5 miles throughout the community, ending back at CLU. Registration begins at noon, and the walk begins at 1 p.m.

Memorial to be held for Milt McAuley
