A free "teach-in" about what's happening in the Democratic Republic of the Congo will be held at 1 p.m. Sun., Feb. 15 in the sanctuary of the Conejo Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 3327 Old Conejo Road, Newbury Park.

The event will have video, slides and discussion to help improve understanding of a country where more than 5 million people have died in war. The program is part of the VDay 2009 International Movement to stop violence against women and girls.

Tricia Bevan and Gordon Clint will be the facilitators. They will present ways in which Americans can help toward ending the violence and suffering in Africa.
