Already excited by two Republicans who'll run in 2010
I'm certain many share my concern over the reckless direction elected officials are taking our economy via their fiscally irresponsible spending and then expecting us to supplement their mistakes by accepting their proposed tax hikes or faux stimulus bill. It's up to us to monitor and hold accountable our government, and next year we have an opportunity to send a strong message by removing from office those who have failed us.
Understandably, with all the challenges facing us today, the 2010 election isn't yet on the radar for many of us.
However, what a gift of time we have to start researching those who have declared their candidacy to run in next year's election, so that when we cast our votes we do so with full transparency to our options.
Two silver linings I've discovered are Assemblymember Chuck DeVore, a candidate for the U.S. Senate, and Jeff Gorell, a candidate for the Assembly's 37th District.
Both men's honorable service to our country as members of the U.S. military and distinguished careers in the public and private sectors afford them the experience and credentials to successfully put California and America back on path to prosperity.
DeVore and Gorell represent the fiscal and ethical leadership we need looking out for us in Washington, D.C., and Sacramento, and have earned my vote in the 2010 election. Dawn Williams Thousand Oaks
