Aquarium at library costs the city $29,000 in annual upkeep

Northern Area schools approve four-team football-only league
      Northern Area representatives in charge of putting together high school sports leagues for the 2010 through 2014 seasons voted 3123 in favor of forming a four-team private-school league exclusively for football. The approval came Tuesday in Santa Barbara. The four schools are Oaks Christian, St. Bonaventure, Santa Clara and Grace Brethren.

      In a story in the Jan. 22 edition of the Thousand Oaks Acorn , a proposal to eliminate First 5 funding was referenced. Any change to First 5 funding must be voted on. The governor has discussed putting it on the ballot to reduce state spending.

      The city of Thousand Oaks lends support to the Conejo Recreation and Park District's Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), which provides free income tax assistance to local seniors and low-income residents of Conejo Valley.
