On suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance, a male, 22, and a female, 21, were arrested around 7:30 p.m. Jan. 24 in the 400 block of Dena Drive.
A male, 26, allegedly battered his girlfriend, causing a minor injury, around 2:45 a.m. Jan. 23 in the 1700 block of W. Hillcrest Drive. A female, 21, at the scene allegedly hit the male subject in the face.
A male, 60, allegedly brandished a knife while trying to stop several juveniles from engaging in what police called "malicious mischief." While holding the knife, the subject grabbed a juvenile, prevented him from leaving and uttered a threat. The subject was arrested and charged with threatening to commit a crime, exhibiting a weapon and committing false imprisonment with violence at 8:50 p.m. Jan. 25 in the 800 block of Paseo de Leon.
A male, 28, took someone's ceramic bowl and broke it by throwing it to the ground. The subject then threw a glass pitcher at the person who was bending over trying to clean up the broken bowl. The subject was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon at 4:30 a.m. Jan. 25 in the 5300 block of Via Andrea.
Property valued at $27,400 was stolen on Jan. 26 or 27 in the 4700 block of W. Lynn Road.
A purse was stolen from an office desk between 12:55 and 3 p.m. Jan. 22 in the first block of Amgen Center Drive.
A male, 32, was arrested and charged with scavenging and having a $200,000 warrant for his arrest in Los Angeles at 10:50 a.m. Jan. 26 in the 4900 block of Via Camino.
On suspicion of attempting to cash a forged check and make a withdrawal from a second account at a bank in the 2100 block of Newbury Road, a male, 60, was arrested at 3:50 p.m. Jan. 26.
A female, 18, was cited for shoplifting fromtheOff Broadway shoe store and Loehmann's department store on W. Hillcrest Drive at 5:36 p.m. Jan. 21.
Property was stolen from a locked storage container between Jan. 26 and 28 in the 4700 block of W. Lynn Road.
Items were stolen from an unlocked cabinet between 1 and 5 p.m. Jan. 27 in the 2100 block of N. Lynn Road.
A phone was stolen between 2 and 2:30 p.m. Jan. 28 in the 1700 block of Newbury Road.
The front door of an unlocked apartment was damaged when a vandal kicked it on Jan. 22 in the 1800 block of W. Hillcrest Drive.
A vandal damaged a vehicle by carving into the paint ($500 in damage) on Jan. 25 in the 1700 block of Calle Zafiro.
Nine people had their vehicles vandalized on Jan. 24 or 25 in alleyways parallel to Calle Diamonte. The total damage estimate exceeded $1,400.
Vehicle break-ins occurred on the following dates and places: On Jan. 27 or 28 in the 200 block of Dickenson Lane (unlocked); between 12:44 and 12:50 p.m. Jan. 23 in the 900 block of Broadbeck Drive (purse stolen from unlocked vehicle); on Jan. 24 or 25 in the 4900 block of Via Aurora (unlocked); between Jan. 23 and 26 in the 200 block of Via Felicia (a satellite radio was stolen from an unlocked vehicle); on Jan. 24 or 25 in the 5300 block of Via Quinto (unlocked); on Jan. 25 in the 5200 block of Via Quinto (unlocked); and on Jan. 25 in the 5200 block of Via Quinto.
