The Jewish Genealogical Society of the Conejo Valley and Ventura County will hold a meeting from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sun., Feb. 8 at Temple Adat Elohim, 2420 E. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.

The topic of the meeting will be "Secret Jews: History and Culture of Crypto-Jews and Their Research for Jewish Roots and Identity." Arthur Benveniste will follow the history of Spanish and Portugese Jews, their forced conversion to Catholicism, the emergence of cryptoJudaism and how it came to the Americas.

There is no charge to attend the meeting.
