Girls Scouts play 'Princess for a Day'

2009-02-05 / Community

Local Girl Scout troops will host a "Princess for a Day" event from 2 to 4 p.m. Sat., Feb. 7 at the Newbury Park Branch Library, 2331 Borchard Road.

Girls who are not Scouts, are new to Scouting or new to the area are invited. Current Girl Scouts are encouraged to bring a friend.

All girls will create a crown, make a bracelet and play princess games. Girls may dress up as a princess if desired.

As a community service project the girls will create cards to encourage sick children in the area.

The Scouts will also collect nonperishable items at the event to support Manna Conejo Valley Food Bank.

The cost is $5 per girl. Scholarships are available for anyone experiencing financial hardship.

To register, go to www.girlscoutsccc.org/events.

Girls can register at the door if space is available.
