An article about the trial of Diana Shakhov had an error in the edition of Jan. 22. The first case ended in a mistrial after the jury deadlocked 9-3 for an acquittal.
Shakhov was driving a car that rearended another vehicle on June 2, 2003 on Thousand Oaks Boulevard.
In the crash, a 17-year-old Westlake High School student, Nicole Johnson, was killed by blunt force trauma to the brain. Shakhov had for two years been taking a muscle relaxant, Soma. Her defense attorney, Howard Price, contends that Shakhov had developed a tolerance for the drug with usage.
