Elks honor law enforcement, firefighter with awards
IRIS SMOOT/Acorn Newspapers HONORED FOR PUBLIC SERVICE- Chief Bob Roper of Ventura County Fire Protection District presents a plaque to Capt. Kevin Davis during the recent 32nd annual Elks Lodge of Thousand Oaks Law Enforcment and Firefighter Awards. The event honors police and patrol officers from sheriff's departments, the CHP and fire departments that serve local areas. The Thousand Oaks Elks Lodge recently hosted its 32nd annual awards for peace officers and firefighters.
This year's honorees included Senior Dep. Michael Marco of Ventura County Sheriff 's Department; Capt. Kevin Davis of Ventura County Fire Department; Officer Daniel Laubscher of the California Highway Patrol; Detective Pete Sanzone of L.A. County Sheriff 's Department; Capt. Rick McClung of L.A. County Fire Department; and Officer Jon Relles of the California Highway Patrol.
Scheduled to present the awards were City Councilmember Dennis Gillette of Thousand Oaks, Ventura County Supervisor Linda Parks and U.S. Rep. Elton Gallegly (R-Thousand Oaks.
The evening included a barbecue dinner.
