Boy Scouts to properly retire American flags
Boy Scout Troop No. 718 of Thousand Oaks and the Conejo Valley Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution will sponsor a community flag retirement ceremony at 4:30 p.m. Sat., Feb. 7 in the upper parking lot, Ascension Lutheran Church, 1600 E. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.
Cake, hot chocolate and hot apple cider will be served after the ceremony in celebration of the 99th anniversary of Boy Scouts of America.
The DAR and Scouts are officially recognized organizations for the disposal of U.S. flags.
The event is free and the community is invited to attend.
