MomSPOT, a new fellowship and support group for mothers, meets from 9:20 to 11:15 a.m. on the first and third Fridays at Living Oaks Community Church, 1033 Business Park Circle, Newbury Park. Spring semester will begin Fri., Feb. 6.

The group also meets at Starbucks on the fourth Friday of the month. Children will be cared for at another location during this event to allow mothers time to socialize.

The group is open to mothers of all ages, with children from tots to teens.

The church meetings feature guest speakers who will provide advice and encouragement on the practical, day-to-day issues faced by mothers, such as parenting, marriage and relationships, all from a Christian perspective.

The cost is $25 per mother and $45 per child. Confidential scholarships are available for those who need financial assistance.
