Artist's drawing of T.O. suspect Artist's drawing of T.O. suspect Police have been receiving calls from residents who think they know the identity of a man who's been indecently exposing himself to women in T.O.

After a detailed description of the man ran in the paper, several people have called with tips that so far haven't panned out, said Detective Greg Tougas.

Details were released after an 18-year-old student reported she'd been attacked as she crossed the footbridge over Olsen Road at 9:20 a.m. Dec. 16.

Police said the woman fought back, punching and kicking. The man had approached her on the bridge, pushed her toward the wall and tried to grab her neck.

After he fled toward the Cal Lutheran University main campus, she went to the sports complex and called authorities.

The description she gave of a tall and slender Caucasian male between 18 and 30 years old, and with pale or yellowish skin tone matched similar descriptions women had provided for the past two years of a man who's committed indecent exposure and lewd acts in the Northwood Park/ Pederson Road area of the city.

The suspect has been described as wearing different types of hats. During the most recent incident, the assailant is said to have worn a brown derby.

Police continue to seek help on this case. They'd like to capture the man before his crimes escalate, Tougas said.

Since September 2006, female pedestrians or joggers, alone or in pairs, have seen a young man about 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall, 130 to 150 pounds with a slender build, and black or dark brown hair exposing himself and committing lewd acts.

Sometimes he wears a black beanie cap, other times a tan or light yellow fisherman hat.

He's also worn a heavy sweat shirt with a hood pulled over his head.

If someone sees him, they're asked to call the sheriff's department at (805) 654-9511. Anyone who knows more about this case can call Detective Greg Tougas at (805) 371-8397.

Ventura County Crime Stoppers will pay a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and criminal complaint against the person responsible for this crime.

The caller may remain anonymous, and the call isn't recorded. Call Crime Stoppers at (805) 494TALK (8255).
