Yvette Trejo An all-round athlete, Los Cerritos Boys & Girls Club member Yvette Trejo is active in flag football, basketball, dodgeball, soccer, softball and bowling.

The 12-year-old, who asserts that she is "up for anything," relishes heartpounding competition yet displays exemplary decorum while greeting parents and answering the phone as a club front desk assistant.

Yvette's other favorite club activities are cooking and art classes, homework hour and dancing with friends during "Parents' Night Out." Her funniest moment? "I was teaching my friend how to work the front desk intercom. She froze halfway through her announcement, and I had to hang up the intercom on her!"

The "Youths of the Month" at the Colina, Sequoia and Redwood clubs are, respectively, Madeleine Fluxman, Bryce King and Jessica Geiser.
