NCL's debutantes to be introduced at tea at Sherwood Country Club

The Conejo Valley Chapter of the National Charity League (NCL) will introduce its 2008 debutantes as part of its annual New Member and Debutante Announcement Tea planned for Sun., May 18 at Sherwood Country Club. The tea will introduce the debutantes and recognize the senior Ticktockers, who've contributed more than 8,000 collective hours during their sixyear membership in NCL.

Incoming Ticktockers and their mothers will also be presented.

National Charity League is a nonprofit, mother-daughter organization supporting local community agencies and charities. The Conejo Valley Chapter assists more than 20 local philanthropies.

It raises funds through its annual Day of Giving fundraiser and its Thousand Oaks thrift shop, Fibber McGee's Closet.

The money raised is distributed among those worthy causes and is also awarded as college scholarships to worthy young women at each local high school.

Working together, mothers and daughters experience the rewards of volunteering their time and energy to help others. Girls typically enter the program as seventhgraders and continue through their senior years, when they may choose to become a debutante.

The debutantes of 2008 have made a large contribution to the Conejo Valley Community. In celebration of their six years of service, they'll be presented at the Conejo Valley Chapter's National Charity League Ball in November at the Four Seasons Hotel in Westlake Village.
