Village Voices to showcase famous songs from movies

The Village Voices Chorale will perform "Reel Music: A Night at the Movies" at 8 p.m. Fri., May 30 and Sat., May 31 at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza Scherr Forum Theatre, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.

The choir, accompanied by Christine DeKlotz and directed by Gloria Hilliard, will perform selections from films such as "Good Morning, Vietnam," "The Lord of the Rings," "Amistad" and "Tarzan."

The Village Voices will also present two of their 2008 scholarship awardees and a local elementary school choir chosen to receive a grant from the Village Voices this year.

Tickets are $18.

The Village Voices Chorale is a nonprofit organization making contributions that support vocal music programs in public schools and private scholarships for students majoring in voice.
